Rainy Night

Just before spring kicked in, Seville had a series of ridiculously wet rainy days, which are only any fun if you're sitting in a car with a camera. Or in the bar in front of said car with a beer!

Country Romp

Spring finally sprung the other day, and I was itching to get out of the city and soak in that wonderful new green. We jumped into our walking boots and drove up to the Sierra Norte and had a lovely day wandering down country lanes, talking to cows and horses, picnicking next to a lake and snoozing under a tree. After the wettest winter I've ever experienced, it was a well needed mini-holiday! Sun, please don't stay away so long next time, we missed you!

Morning Market

Every Thursday morning an odds-and-sods market takes place on Calle Feria, one of the longest oldest roads in Sevilla. There you can buy antiques, flamenco dresses, beautiful old hand-painted tiles, stolen car radios, rollarskates, books, antlers, old jewellery and napkin holders and whatever else takes your fancy! A wander and browse around the market ending in Cafe Hercules for a manchado (milky coffee) and a tostada con jamón y tomate.... what a perfect way to kick start the day!

Sacred Breakfast

The essential breakfast ritual:
open the door to the patio,
freshly squeezed orange juice,
freshly brewed coffee,
and relax...

Morning Light

After a year of living in house with a dark bedroom, whose light was cut off by the orange trees outside, it's beautiful to wake up with white light pouring in through the curtains. I've never been a morning person, but our new bedroom makes me so happy it's hard to stay in bed... I just want to get up and potter!
